First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon has a long history of ministry in the community.

These are a few of the ministries the church has to offer those who come and fellowship with us.

Kids Night out

Kids Night Out meets throughout the year on select Friday nights from 6:15 pm - 8:00 pm. Kids ages 4 through 12 are invited to come and eat, sing, do crafts, play group activities and hear about Jesus and his love. Starting March 7, 2025 KNO is every Friday night through May 2. women’s bible study

Our women meet on Tuesdays at 10 am for Bible Study. They meet regularly September through November and January through May. Come and be part of this exciting group. Currently led by Pastor Bill Barton.

Prayer and bible study

Need a lift during the middle of the week? Come at 6:00 pm on Wednesdays for a time of Bible Study and Prayer. We have a place for you!

Music at First Baptist Church

We offer a blended worship service with our praise team leading worship on Sunday mornings. Our organist and pianist accompany hymns and songs as the congregation sing. Our adult choir meets on Wednesdays and prepares music for Easter, Christmas and worship as needed. We have special music provided by our congregation at various times during the year. During months with 5 Sundays, we dedicate our 5th Sunday to Praise & Worship in our Singspiration Worship Service—the congregation takes part in the worship service in song, sign language, readings and prayer. If you have gifts of music or worship, please see our Choir Director for ways to share in worship!

Bell Choir is volunteer and performs several times a year.
