Who We Are

We are not just a church service on Sunday. We see ourselves as the body of Christ with the ability to move in our community. We are a church that loves to provide as much outreach to our community as possible. When you visit us, you will likely see many smiling faces and welcoming spirits.

About Our Church

First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon, Ohio is located at 303 South Edgewood Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio.  The Church is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches-USA.  The church celebrates 188 years in ministry to the Mount Vernon area in 2023.

The purpose of this Church shall be the advancement of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. It shall seek to attain this end through the public worship of God, the preaching and teaching of the Gospel, consistent Christian living by its members, Personal evangelism, Missionary endeavor, Christian education, and developing Christian fellowship. 

This Church receives the New Testament as the all-sufficient basis of doctrine and practice. As a summary of principles for Christian conduct among its members it adopts the following Church Covenant, and Ordinances.
